AUTHOR GUIDELINES
1. General Information
The Archives of Community Services (ACS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. Authors are encouraged to submit high-quality original research, review articles, and technical notes related to all aspects of mechanical and related engineering disciplines.
Submissions must comply with the formatting and structure outlined in this guideline and the provided template.
2. Manuscript Preparation
2.1 Language
- Manuscripts must be written in English.
- Use clear, concise, and academic language throughout the manuscript.
2.2 Template
- All manuscripts must use the official ACS template.
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12 (unless otherwise specified).
- Paragraph: Justify text; first-line indent: 0.63 cm.
- Line spacing: Single (1.0).
3. Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts must be organized as follows:
- Title: Capitalize each word; left-aligned, font size 16.
- Authors and Affiliations: Full names of all authors, including affiliation details.
- Abstract: Max 300 words; must include background, problem, method, key findings, and conclusion.
- Keywords: Minimum 5; separated by semicolons.
- Main Sections:
- Introduction (with background, literature review, research gap, and objectives)
- Methodology
- Results
- Discussion (optional or combined with Results)
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgment (mandatory, even if no funding)
- References (IEEE style; minimum 20; include DOIs where available)
4. Figures and Tables
- Figures:
- Must be high resolution and clearly labeled.
- Captions appear below figures, aligned to the figure’s width.
- Discuss each figure in the body text.
- Tables:
- Placed at the center.
- Captions appear above tables.
- Font size for content: 10 pt, centered.
5. Equations
- Use Microsoft Equation Editor.
- All equations must be numbered, e.g., (1), (2), etc.
- Refer to equations as “Eq. (1)” in the text.
6. References
- Use IEEE referencing style.
- Include DOI links wherever possible.
- Only cite published or accepted works.
- Minimum of 20 references required.
7. Ethics and Plagiarism Screening
All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using:
- Grammarly Plagiarism Checker
- CrossCheck via Turnitin.com
Manuscripts with significant overlap or unethical citation practices will be rejected.
8. Publication Frequency
ACS is published twice a year:
- Issue 1: January – June
- Issue 2: July – December
9. Article Processing Charges (APC)
ACS does not charge any fees for article submission, processing, or publication. All articles are published free of charge.
10. Copyright and Licensing
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited.
